Who we are

Business listings compiled from public sources
We publish listings of Southport businesses. For sole traders and partnerships, business details such as a trading name, phone number and area are personal data. We take them only from what the business has already published to attract customers: its own website or public business page, and public registers such as Companies House and the Environment Agency. We never publish a sole trader's home address; we show the area.
Legal basis: legitimate interests. Residents want to find local businesses and businesses want to be found; the data is already public; we tell each business within a month of listing it, and we remove any individual's listing on request, first and without argument.
We do not use Google Maps or Google Places data, copy from other directories, or sell or share the data with anyone.
Listings you submit yourself
When you use the Add-your-business form, we hold what you give us, publish the business details, and use your name and email only to reply about the listing. Legal basis: your agreement on the form, and legitimate interests in running the directory.
Verifying a listing
To verify a listing we hold the name and email of the person claiming it and the method used (email to the business domain, a posted code, or a phone call). Codes are deleted after 90 days.
Contacting businesses
We contact listed businesses to tell them they are listed and how to correct, verify or remove the listing. We keep a record of who we contacted, when, and how. We do not send marketing. Before any phone call we check the number against the Telephone Preference Service.
Visitors to the site
The site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. Our server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, page, time) for security, for up to 30 days. We also count visits ourselves, without cookies and without any third party: for each page view and each tap on a phone number or link, the server records the page, the time, the referring site, the kind of device (phone or desktop) and a code made from your IP address and browser that is scrambled with a key that changes every day. That code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and it changes daily, so we can count how many different people visited but cannot recognise you again tomorrow. Your IP address itself is not kept in the statistics. Nothing is stored on your device. Business owners see only totals for their own listing (views, calls, website clicks).
How long we keep things
- Listings: while the business trades and hasn't asked to be removed. A listing with no confirmation for 24 months is removed.
- Contact records for listed businesses: 12 months after our last contact, unless the listing is verified.
- Verification codes: 90 days. Correction and removal requests: 6 years.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to us holding it. The fastest route is the correct-or-remove page or an email to hello@draxiq.com. We acknowledge within two working days and resolve within ten. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
