Three of the four Southport shops are online retailers with a real counter in the town; the fourth trades from a Facebook page and a shop in Ainsdale village.
Go in. Every shop here has a counter and staff who will look at what you use and say what to buy, which is worth more than any website since the disposable ban changed what everyone sells. A reusable device is now the only legal kind: rechargeable, refillable, with a coil you can replace. If you were on disposables, ask for the pre-filled pod kits that replaced them; they cost about the same per week and the shop will show you how the pods work.
Ask to see the age check. Every shop on this page states 18+ on its own site, and a good one asks for ID from anyone who looks under 25 whether or not they call it Challenge 25. A shop that does not check is a shop that will not be trading long once the licensing scheme under the new Act starts.
Ask what they do with used devices and pods. Any shop that sells vapes must take back used ones for recycling, by law, whether you bought them there or not. Most do not advertise it. The ones that answer straight away are the ones that know the rules.
Compare the 10ml price and the loyalty scheme, not the kit price. A kit is a one-off; the liquid is every week. The Southport shops publish their 10ml prices online (from £1 a bottle at one, £1.50 at another, multi-buys at all of them) and three run points schemes. Click and collect from the online shops is the same price as the website with none of the postage.

Formby has no specialist vape shop we could confirm from its own page, so the nearest ones outside the town are in Ormskirk and Burscough: Fuel n Vape on Church Street, and Mersey Vapour, a four-shop local chain going since 2012, on Burscough Street in Ormskirk and Liverpool Road North in Burscough. They are on this page flagged as nearby. Fuel n Vape also lists a Southport branch on the map, but nothing on its own site or pages mentions it, so it is not listed until it does.

Yes, and the shop must accept them. Every business that sells vapes has to offer a take-back service for used devices, pods, coils and batteries, whoever sold them. Ask at the counter; most have a bin behind it.
Not yet. The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 gives the government the power to run a retail licensing scheme, but no start date has been set. What you can check now is the MHRA's published list of notified products, which every legal e-liquid and device must be on.
If you look under 25, you should be. The legal age is 18 and all four Southport shops say so on their own sites. None of them prints "Challenge 25", which is an alcohol-trade scheme that vape shops adopt voluntarily.
